Gary Hughes, animator, sculptor & painter, was born in Columbia, SC, in 1930 and was raised in Baltimore where he graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art. After serving in the Army, Gary worked as Art Director for a film production company.   In 1963 he founded his own animation company, Gary Hughes, Inc., in Kensington, MD.  He produced many award-winning animation sequences for large variety of clients; among them top ad agencies, the National Geographic Society, Smithsonian Institution, PBS and NBC.
